Tripoli, 14 October 2015:
There were heavy clashes last night in Tripoli’s Hay Al-Akwak area next to Abu Sleem and . . .[restrict]the airport road.
According to residents living in the area, the fighting was between a militia from Misrata and a group of residents who come from Kikla. They said that the clashes started after the Saitra (“control”) militia shot one Kikla man and seized another.
The area is a notorious friction point in the capital. However, although the main armed force there is linked to Kikla and run by Abdul Ghani Kikli, between known as Ghnaiwa, it is not thought that those involved in yesterday’s shooting are linked to him.
The area was quiet today. [/restrict]
