Tunis, 5 March 2015:
The Maltese based charter airliner . . .[restrict]Medavia has suspended flights to and from Tripoli’s Mitiga airport as a result of the repeated air raids on the airport by pro House of Representatives fighters, the Mitiga airport Facebook page reports.
Medavia is the only non-Libyan based airliner flying to Libya and the only airliner flying directly from Libya to an EU destination.
There were at least three air strikes yesterday on Mitiga airport aimed at the furthest end – the military end of the airport. No damage was reported to civilian aircraft or to passenger facilities. [/restrict]
