Tripoli, 9 February 2015:
Heavy clashes at Ain Mara, west of Derna, between Islamic State/Ansar Al-Sharia forces and LNA . . .[restrict]forces have continued today for the fourth consecutive day. According to an LNA source, at least 11 fighters have been killed in the fighting. Eight were buried yesterday. Local militiamen supporting the LNA were also said to figure among the casualties.
Figures for IS casualties are unknown.
The source added that fresh LNA reinforcements, including arms and men, arrived today at the heavily guarded LNA checkpoint some 27 kilometres west of the town on the Beida road.
Meanwhile of consignment of new armoured vehicles are said to have arrived in Tobruk today from the UAE. They are reportedly earmarked for the fight at Derna.
Early last week fighting at Ain Mara left a reported 40 dead. [/restrict]
