Benghazi, 28 June 2014:
Benghazi is not all about assassinations, clashes and security worries. Benghazi locals flocked to the beach . . .[restrict]ahead of Ramadan to make the most of the cool sea breezes in temperatures which reached 47 degrees in some places.
Some of Benghazi’s young men passed the time playing sepak takraw, a south east Asian variation on volleyball, where players kick the ball over a net rather than volley it with their hands.
There has been further reason to relax in the city where many have been looking forward to Ramadan in the hope it would offer some respite from the ongoing violence there. Benghazi Joint Security Room has announced a lifting of the city’s midnight to 6 am curfew to allow residents the opportunity to move freely at prayer times. The curfew will resume after Eid Al-Fitr.
