The Minister of Transport and Financial Advisor to the Prime Minister, Mohamed Al-Shahoubi, received a Russian economic delegation today at the Ministry’s Tripoli headquarters.

The meeting was also attended by the Undersecretaries of the Ministry, the Libyan Ambassador to Russia, the Russian Ambassador to Libya, and the Director of the European Department at the Libyan Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting aimed to strengthen bilateral cooperation between Libya and Russia.

The discussions covered several issues of mutual interest, particularly in the areas of transportation, infrastructure, and logistics. They also explored opportunities for economic and investment cooperation between the two countries, serving their shared interests and enhancing the strategic partnership.

The meeting also addressed mechanisms for reactivating the Libyan-Russian Joint Committee, in line with the Minister's responsibilities as head of the Libyan side of the committee. This reactivation is intended to advance cooperation and implement existing agreements and memoranda of understanding between the two countries.

During the meeting, both sides emphasized the importance of continued coordination, consultation, and the exchange of expertise to support development efforts, contribute to the advancement of the transport sector, and strengthen economic relations between Libya and Russia.
