The national youth . . .[restrict]football team (under-20s) will play the first of two matches against Tunisia this evening in the second round of qualifiers for the African Nations Youth Championship 2015. The 6 pm match will take place at Mustapha Tchaker Stadium in Blida, Algeria. The team travelled to Algeria last Tuesday to train on site.
The Libyan team defeated Chad in their two matches in the first round of qualifiers earlier last week with a total of 4-0. Tunisia beat Mauritania 6-1 in the first round. The two teams are said to be evenly matched for this evening’s match.
Today’s match is the first of two between the two teams. The second will take place on 24 May. Twenty-eight teams are playing this month in the second round qualifiers. If Libya advances they will play either Liberia or the Ivory Coast in third round, to be held in August.
The finals of the 2015 African Under 20s Championship will be held in Senegal. The semi-finalists will participate in the 2015 FIFA Under 20s World Cup in New Zealand. [/restrict]
