A delegation led by the Algerian Ambassador, Abdel-Hamid Bu Zahra, was in . . .[restrict]Misrata yesterday at the invitation of the local Libyan Businessmen Council and Misrata Local Council.
It visited the free trade zone and was briefed on the facilities and the way work was being conducted as well as services provided for investors in the free zone. The delegation also made visited the Libyan Iron and Steel Company.
In meetings with the two councils, the ambassador expressed Algeria’s interest in developing joint projects in the city, especially in the iron and steel industry – based, he said, on Algeria’s expertise in the steel sector worldwide.
Algeria, he added, was also looking to re-activate all former economic agreements made with Libya and sign new ones.
He furthermore expressed his country’s willingness to provide experts to help with Libyan national reconciliation, stating that future cooperation between the two countries could be conducted at government ministry level in a way that would benefit both countries.
Algeria was willing to help in all fields, he said, especially in the treatment of thosee wounded and those injured during the war. [/restrict]
