At a meeting this week between Indian ambassador Anil Trigunayat with Mustafa Abofonas, Minister of Economy, trade and . . .[restrict]commerce cooperation was discussed. The Indian ambassador revealed that bilateral trade has grown by almost 100 percent passing the US$ 2 bn in 2013.
Ambassador Trigunayat extended an invitation to the Minister and Libyan companies to visit India to attend a series of important trade fairs and exhibitions.
The ambassador informed Minister Abofonas that under the India Africa Forum Summit programme, the Indian Institute of Foreign Trade would be happy to conduct a 2-week seminar for business professionals and government officials involved in trade promotion and SME development that would go a long way in capacity building in New Libya.
The ambassador also invited the Minister to lead a delegation for the upcoming India-Africa Trade Ministers meeting in South Africa on 30 September – 1 October, 2013.
The minister informed that a delegation led by his Deputy Minister will attend the India-Africa Trade Minister meeting.
