Tripoli, 23 May 2013:
Long queues of trucks and cars built up on either side of the Libyan-Egyptian border . . .[restrict]today after Libyan passport officers walked out, following a row with their border guard colleagues.
A councillor in the border town of Musaid said that local elders had tried to settle the dispute. However according to the Libyan news agency LANA, they only managed to persuade the passport officers to process through the border check point, pedestrians and people with cars. Trucks remained stuck on both sides of the frontier. The reason for the passport officers’ action was this evening, still unclear. [/restrict]
