Tripoli, 21 March 2013:
Displaced residents of Mizdah may soon be able to return to their homes, following a large number of . . .[restrict]shells that lay scattered around the town being cleared by a local Jebel Nafusa military unit.
The explosives were left after the recent clashes between the Mashahia and Qantrar tribes, which caused many people to flee the town.
Removing the munitions, as well as surveying the extent of the damage to properties, is designed to make Mizdah safe for its inhabitants to return.
The abandoned ordinance, including 50 mortar, 32 tank and 15 heavy artillery shells, as well as a large quantity of light ammunition, was taken away to be safely destroyed. [/restrict]
