British Ambassador temporarily replaced

 Tripoli, 13 September:

The British Ambassador, Sir Dominic Asquith, is being temporarily replaced because of health reasons.

According to a British Embassy statement, . . .[restrict]a former British ambassador to Iraq, Michael Aron, will be stepping into the post on an interim basis.

Aron has significant experience in the Arab world. Before going to Baghdad, he headed the British Foreign Office’s Middle East Department and before, from 2008 to 2009, was British Ambassador in Kuwait. [/restrict]
