Libyan Army Chief of Staff, General Yousef Mangoush warned Wednesday of possible attacks by die-hard Gaddafi supporters on the February 17 . . .[restrict]first anniversary of the start of the uprising.
Mangoush told a group of military attachés from foreign embassies, that some sort of attack, possibly in Benghazi, where the rebellion began, could not be ruled out. He said the authorities would have to be vigilant and be prepared for a possible outrage.
Mangoush had called the meeting with the diplomats as part of his drive to re-build, re-train and re-equip the Libyan army with the hoped-for collaboration of friendly states. [/restrict]
