A week-long exhibition in Tripoli on the history of Muslims in Poland is to end . . .[restrict]tomorrow.
The exhibition, ‘Muslims on Polish Soil’, showcases the rich culture and history of muslims living in eastern Poland near the Belorussian border, a place they have called home for over 700 years.
Demonstrating the changing face of the Muslim community, the presentation charts the beginnings of the society in the 14th century when Tartars were granted land and religious freedom by what was then the Grand Duchy of Lithuania as a reward for their military prowess. It ends in the present day the exhibition shows Muslims in Gdansk preparing for the Haj.
The event is presented by the Muslim community in Poland and the Polish Embassy in Tripoli. The exhibition is held in the old British Consulate building in the old town and finishes on Sunday evening. [/restrict]
