Tripoli, March 13 2013:
Tripoli University is looking to collaborate . . .[restrict]with UAE’s Hamdan Bin Mohammed e-University (HBMeU). A delegation headed by Mabrouk Belhaj, adviser to the Warriors Affairs Commission (WAC) and undersecretary at the university, is in Dubai to study educational options for Libya’s former revolutionaries as well as help in reinvigorating the country’s educational institutions.
Accompanying Belhaj are WAC’s Director of Educational Path and Delegations, Ahmad Al-Banooni, and adviser Rifaat Hadaka.
Meeting with HBMeU’s president, Dubai Crown Prince Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al-Maktoum, as well as Chancellor of HBMeU Mansoor Al-Awar and Dubai Police Chief and Chairman of HBMeU’s Board of Governors Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, the Tripoli team dicussed prospects of Libyan students enrolling in HBMeU, particularly those interested in post-graduate studies.
Belhaj also conveyed Libya’s desire to cooperate with HBMeU and learn from its development into a leading educational technology based institution.
According to the HBMeU’s website, Belhaj said that up to 28,000 students were looking to enroll at the e-university, moving from being revolutionaries to helping re-build Libya on a solid “scientific and civilized bases”.
A draft proposal to commence a partnership between HBMeU and WAC was received by Sheikh Hamdan.
HBMeU started as a project by Dubai police. e-TQM was the first online school for the study of Total Quality Management. Now as HBMeU, it has grown to become a multiple discipline university offering undergraduate and postgraduate studies. [/restrict]
