Libya’s General Information Authority (GIA) announced yesterday the activation of the Government Reporting Platform (LY_GOVREP) as a unified national tool for monitoring performance and measuring achievement levels within public entities.
Enhancing good governance and consolidating the principle of transparency
The GIA said this comes as part of the Tripoli government’s efforts to enhance good governance and consolidate the principle of transparency. This comes with direct follow-up from the Office of the Secretary General of the Council of Ministers, and in coordination with the Follow-up Office of the Council of Ministers to ensure increased institutional commitment and improved quality of government reports.
Building an integrated digital government system based on data
In this context, the GIA said it had commenced the actual operation of the Libyan Government Reporting Platform within its executive and technical role for developing and operating government digital systems, analysing data, and issuing dashboards, thus supporting the building of an integrated digital government system based on data.
Supporting evidence-based decision-making
The GIA said the performance indicators achieved so far reflect tangible progress in adopting digital transformation tools, while continuing to work on enhancing the level of institutional commitment and raising the quality of data, which contributes to supporting evidence-based decision-making and achieving the goals of digital government.
