A symposium entitled “From Lack of Liquidity to Credit Failure” held in Misrata ‎

A scientific symposium was held on 10 January at the Faculty ‎‎of Arts of the University of Misrata under the slogan “From Scarcity of Liquidity to Credit Failure”. The event was sponsored by Misrata Chamber of Commerce and attended by its chairman Fathi Al-Amin.

‎The activities of the dialogue included:

  • The direct repercussions of the banking crisis on the Libyan consumer
  • Its impact on the performance of the private sector and finance
  • The role of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL) in managing the crisis
  • The challenges the CBL faces
  • Presenting a number of visions and possible reform solutions to enhance confidence in the banking sector.‎

‎The symposium also witnessed the presence of a wide number of academics, activists and those interested in economic affairs, and opened the door for discussion to attend within the framework of promoting scientific dialogue on the current economic crisis and discussing ways to support financial and economic stability in Libya.‎

‎Misrata Chamber reported that the symposium comes as part of a series of scientific events that aim to raise economic awareness, and link academic analysis to the reality of living and the challenges facing the national economy.‎
