(GNU).

‎During his meeting yesterday with the Ambassador of the United Kingdom to Libya, Martin Longden, Tripoli based Libyan Prime Minister, Abd Alhamid Aldabaiba, discussed ways to enhance judicial cooperation with the International Criminal Court, coordination in human rights files and accountability for those involved in grave violations.‎

‎Recent security operation came within efforts to enforce law and end an irregular presence
The meeting reviewed the latest developments in the security situation in the capital, Tripoli, where the Prime Minister stressed that the recent security operation came within the framework of the state’s efforts to enforce the law and end an irregular presence linked to a record of gross violations of human rights, including detention without legal basis, ill-treatment, and obstruction of justice.‎

‎Aldabaiba explained that the operation was carried out quietly and without confrontations, but the next day witnessed unfortunate military events in the capital, which the competent authorities dealt with responsibly to maintain stability.‎

‎Aldabaiba postpones speaking to the Libyan people
Aldabaiba also stressed that he chose to postpone clarifying the details of the operation, in order to ensure the success of the calming efforts, and will in the coming days send a detailed letter to the Libyan people, in commitment to transparency and the right of citizens to know the truth.‎
