China’s OVM celebrates its contribution in Libyan construction projects, including Third Ring Road

China’s OVM (Middle East & North Africa) today celebrated its contribution to Libya’s construction projects, including Tripoli’s Third Ring Road.

It announced that construction is moving forward on the Tripoli Third Ring Road (TTRR) mega project.

The TTRR Project, a massive infrastructure project in Tripoli, Libya, will construct a 23.8km dual-carriageway highway with six lanes, including 14 main interchanges, overpass bridges, tunnels, and 14 pedestrian bridges.

OVM said the project is expected to have a significant positive impact on the city, enhancing its infrastructure, improving traffic flow, and fostering trade and commerce, ultimately contributing to the city’s overall development.

  • Post-Tensioning – the placing of the concrete structure under compression in areas where load causes tensile stress
  • Bridge Bearings – an important structural component to connect the bridge superstructure and substructure, located between the bridge and the mat stone acting as an important transmission device. OVM will be supplying 2,000+ Bridge Bearings.
  • Expansion joints – to allow concrete to naturally expand and contract without cracking

The project parties involved in the TTRR’s construction are:

-Client: The Housing and Infrastructure Board (HIB), Libya

-Main Contractor: Joint Venture of (Orascom Construction, Hassan Allam, Road, Neom)

– Consultant: Hill International

– Designer: GEG Engineering Structures for Life

OVM is also participating in other Libyan construction projects, including in Benghazi and Derna.
