‎Tripoli based Libyan prime minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba gave his full support to the development project of Tripoli’s Grand Water Reservoir to eliminate water scarcity.

Aldabaiba was speaking yesterday as he chaired the eleventh regular meeting of the Supreme Council for Energy and Water Affairs held at the National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) Tripoli headquarters.

The meeting was held in the presence of a member of the Council, Chairman of the Administrative Control Authority, Abdullah Qaderboh, and members of the Energy and Water Council, to discuss several files, including the water sectors.‎

‎The meeting discussed the establishment of Tripoli’s Grand Water Reservoir project to be implemented by the Implementation and Management Authority of the Man-Made River Project. The Energy and Water Council affirmed its support and approval for the development projects offered by the River Authority and the provision of the necessary financial allocations to address the water scarcity suffered by several municipalities and regions. The need to coordinate with the relevant executive agencies in the implementation of water supply lines projects and main and subsidiary reservoirs and link them with the production of the River Authority, was also discussed.‎

‎At the end of the meeting, Aldabaiba stressed the support of his government to give priority in the development plan to projects to provide drinking water and implement water supply lines.‎
