Libya Enterprise to discuss barriers to SME finance with local banks

The National Programme for Small and Medium Enterprises, part of the Ministry of Local Government, met the UNDP and Britain’s E&Y to, it reports, develop work programmes at the level of entrepreneurship, especially in incubators and business centres.

The meeting took place yesterday at the National Programme for Small and Medium Enterprises’ new headquarters in the Noflyeen district of Tripoli.

The SMEs Department said the meeting comes within the framework of continuous cooperation between it and international institutions to develop work programmes under its supervision.

A clear vision of the SME department
At the meeting, the SMEs Department Director General, Ahmed Al-Namawi, presented a clear vision of his department’s vision in developing and improving work in small and medium enterprises in the coming period, to contribute to raising the level of entrepreneurs and creating entrepreneurial projects capable of success.

The national SME strategy
The national SME strategy was also discussed to create an effective entrepreneurship environment that brings together all national institutions in one framework that contributes to achieving sustainable development.
