The Benghazi Coding Academy is getting ready to start providing youth with digital skills, Expertise France reported Sunday.

It will provide tech programmes, training and interactive events to serve Libyan youth eager to keep up with technology, develop their digital skills, and gain experiences that qualify them to support Libya’s digital transformation, it explained.

The Coding Academy was equipped and rehabilitated as part of the Raqam-e project funded by the French government and implemented by Expertise France in cooperation with the Benghazi Municipality and the Ministry of Local Governance.

Academy’s managers trained for three months
In parallel with the maintenance of the space, the academy’s administrative team selected from the municipality was trained as part of an intensive programme that lasted for three months in Tunisia. Through this, participants learned the basics of coding, digital marketing, and communication skills to manage the space successfully.

After Tripoli, Benghazi and Sebha – Misrata to follow
Benghazi Coding Academy’s maintenance and rehabilitation followed the inauguration of coding academies in Tripoli and Sebha. Work is still ongoing to renovate the Misrata Coding Academy to promote digitization and disseminate digital skills among all groups of Libyan youth in different regions.
