Libyan-Tunisian Forum on Transport Services makes recommendations

London, 30 June 2021:

The Libyan-Tunisian Forum for Transport and Services held between the 27 to 28 June in Monastir, Tunisia made eight main recommendations, Libya’s Transport Ministry reported yesterday.

The Forum discussed the terms of the Libyan-Tunisian agreement regarding transport services and problems faced by entrepreneurs.

The recommendations that will be submitted to the governments of the two countries were:

1- Establishing a mechanism for implementing the agreements concluded between the two countries.

2- Opening the sector for investment and inviting investors from both countries.

3- Inaugurating a marine line as a strategic alternative to land transport.

4- Improving land, sea and air transport infrastructure.

5- Enhancing traffic safety on the roads.

6- Working to unify the insurance card and work in the Joint Window in accordance with the agreements signed between the two ministries.

7- Establishing a Libyan-Tunisian electronic platform that explains the procedures for taking roads, bumpy points on the public roads, traffic instructions, ambulance areas and everything that is important in traffic safety.

8 – Forming committees from the General Transport Association to investigate the reasons for faltering in the procedures of vehicles, transport and services and preparing them in a report for the Ministry through specialists and follow-up of transport and services procedures according to each administration.
