The Renewable Energy Authority of Libya (REAoL) reported today that, as part of the implementation of the National Strategy for Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency—and under the auspices of the Prime Minister's Office and in cooperation with the Ministry of Health— it continues to implement the "GoGreen" initiative.

This initiative aims to equip health centres with solar energy systems, thereby providing a sustainable energy source and enhancing the stability and continuity of health services.

The second phase of the initiative involved the installation and commissioning of solar energy systems at several targeted health centres, including:

- Al-Assa Health Centre.

- Ragdalin Health Centre for Diabetes and Endocrinology.

- Zultan Health Centre.

- Zuwara Health Services Administration.

- Al-Ain Centre for Diabetes, Endocrinology, and Diabetic Foot Care (Surman).

- Nalut Health Centre.

- Awlad Atiya Health Services (Al-Rajban).

- Mirbat Clinics Complex (Misrata).

- Al-Aziziya Rural Hospital.

These efforts are part of the broader expansion of renewable energy solutions within healthcare facilities.

REAoL said installing and operating solar systems on the rooftops of these health centres represents a practical step toward expanding the use of renewable energy. It leverages solar power to reduce conventional electricity consumption, improve energy efficiency, and ensure the continued operation of essential facilities and services, ultimately supporting the delivery of more stable and efficient healthcare.

REAoL emphasized that the second phase of the "GoGreen" initiative builds upon ongoing efforts to expand solar energy adoption within the health sector. It added that it looks forward to implementing future phases of the initiative and equipping additional health centres with solar energy systems, thereby reinforcing the state's commitment to transitioning toward clean and sustainable energy sources.
