Libya’s state National Oil Corporation’s (NOC) reported yesterday that as part of its ongoing efforts to increase production rates and develop its operations, the Arabian Gulf Oil Company (AGOCO) has resumed production at the Sinawen oil field, located in the Nalut region.
This follows a hiatus of more than three and a half years due to financial and technical difficulties related to shipping operations via the pipeline extending to the Mellitah Industrial Complex.
The NOC said this significant step comes with the follow-up and support of its Chairman, who affirmed that the NOC is moving forward with its strategic plan to increase production levels in support of the national economy and to bolster state resources.
The company’s technical and engineering teams successfully completed the necessary maintenance and repair work to address operational bottlenecks and have begun gradually pumping oil in accordance with safety and efficiency standards.
The NOC said, the field, which was inaugurated in 2020, is now back in operation as a key component of the oil infrastructure in the western region and a significant contributor to improving the overall performance of the sector.
