Prime Minister Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba inaugurated yesterday the Libya International Exhibition for Electronic Payment and Digital Transformation "EPAIX 2026", which was held at the Tripoli International Fair, with the wide participation of banks, financial institutions, telecommunications companies and digital technologies.‎

‎During his speech at the opening, Aldabaiba stressed that digital transformation and electronic payment represent a key pillar in the development of state institutions and enhance their efficiency and transparency. He pointed out that the government has taken practical steps to consolidate this trend, including adopting electronic payment methods as an official means of collecting government fees and dues, in a way that contributes to improving public services, simplifying procedures and raising the efficiency of government performance.‎

Digital transformation as a strategic investment in the future of Libya
The Prime Minister explained that the government views digital transformation as a strategic investment in the future of Libya, which aims to build a more transparent economy, a more efficient financial sector, and government services that keep pace with the aspirations of citizens, stressing the continued support for initiatives and projects that enhance the digital economy and enable the private sector and youth to contribute to the development process.‎

Over 40 entities exhibiting
Following the opening, the Prime Minister toured the exhibition’s pavilions, during which he was briefed on the latest solutions and technologies in the fields of electronic payment, financial technology and digital transformation. He listened to explanations about the services and projects provided by the participating entities, which exceeded 40 entities, including commercial banks, financial services companies, telecommunications companies, and companies specialized in financial technologies and digital transformation.‎

‎The opening ceremony was attended by the Governor of the Central Bank of Libya Naji Issa, the Minister of State for Prime Minister and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Ghalboun, the Acting Minister of Interior Major General Imad Trabelsi, the Minister of Economy and Trade Suhail Abu Shiha, the President of the General Authority for Exhibitions and Conferences, in addition to a number of directors of departments at the bank, directors of commercial banks, and representatives of financial institutions, electronic payment companies and financial technologies.‎
