The Ministry of Industry and Minerals revealed yesterday that Tripoli Prime Minister, Abdel Hamid Aldabaiba, issued Decree No. (298) of 2026, establishing the "General Directorate for Industrial Regulation" within the organizational structure of the Ministry of Industry and Minerals.
The Ministry of Industry and Minerals said the move embodies cohesive leadership and integrated institutional work. The step aims to enhance the Ministry's ability to fulfil its legal responsibilities and to solidify the foundations of sustainable development and diversify the national economy, in line with the state's strategic vision.
The newly established directorate will undertake several vital responsibilities for regulating and developing the sector, most notably:
- Granting industrial licenses
- Maintaining the Industrial Registry
- Organising the statistical code and classifying industrial activities
- Preparing the National Industrial Map to identify investment opportunities and geographically distribute projects in a way that serves spatial development.
In this regard, the Ministry stated that the Minister of Industry and Minerals, Mohamed Abdel Gader, the Undersecretary of the Ministry, Mustafa Al-Samou, and all the directors of departments and employees of the Ministry, extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to Prime Minister Aldabaiba for his continued support and for granting confidence to the Ministry.
This, for enabling its components to exercise their powers in accordance with the applicable legislation, stressing their full commitment to translating this confidence into practical achievements that elevate the national industry according to the highest standards of efficiency and governance.
