The Tripoli based Libyan Ministry of Oil and Gas reported last Thursday (23 April) that its team held an extensive meeting with a delegation from the US-based Metis Energy and its local partner, the IMI Group.
The ministry said this comes as part of its efforts to strengthen international partnerships and develop technical expertise.
Reducing gas flaring
The meeting addressed avenues for cooperation in the areas of modern technological solutions and the development of the energy sector’s infrastructure, with a focus on reducing gas flaring in oil operations in line with the sector’s vision and enhancing its efficiency.
The Ministry team included the Director General of the General Directorate of Planning and Follow-up, the Director General of the General Directorate of Technical Affairs, the Director of the Renewable Energy Office, and the International Cooperation and Relations Office team.
The other side was represented by Suhail Sassi, President of Metis Energy, and Dr. Ahmed Abu Rukba, Vice President of the IMI Group.
