Three Fisheries officials were temporarily suspend from work by the Administrative Control Authority (ACA) yesterday (14 July) on charges of corruption
The ACA said the suspensions were based on the report of the Director of the General Department of Control of Productive Sectors and Infrastructure No. (1356-39), dated 02/07/2025, and the monitoring of administrative and financial abuses, and what was required by the public interest.
The head of the ACA issued decision No. (396) of 2025, suspending the following from work:
– In his capacity as Chairman of the Supervision and Communication Committee for the Tuna Fishing season for the year 2025.
- In his capacity as Rapporteur of the Supervisory Committee for the Tuna Fishing season for the year 2025.
- In his capacity as Director of the Administrative and Financial Affairs Department at the Ministry of Marine Resources in the Tripoli based Libyan government member of the Supervisory Committee for the Tuna Fishing season for the year 2025.
The ACA explained that these suspensions come for reasons and requirements of the public interest, and as a continuation of the current inferences in the ACA regarding the violations committed, and pursuant to the provisions of Article (31) of Law No. (20) of 2013 establishing the Administrative Control Authority, its amendments, and its executive regulations.
