Mitiga Airport’s new terminal, Tripoli’s only operating airport, is to open next Sunday (18 August), the Tripoli based Transport Ministry’s Airports Authority revealed last Thursday (15 August).

The new terminal will open with two test flights. The first will be an Afriqiyah Airways flight to Sfax Airport, departing at 7:00 pm. The second flight will be a Libyan Airlines flight to Tunisia Carthage Airport, departing at 7:40 pm.‎

‎‎The news of the opening of the new terminal, which has been under construction for several years, came during an implementation follow up visit to Mitiga airport by Head of the Airports Authority, Mohamed Bait al-Mal, last Thursday.
