A report by Egypt’s Export Council for Building Materials, Refractories and Metal Industries, reported by Egyptian online publication Maal (Money), stated that Libya occupied first place on the list of the largest countries importing Egyptian marble and granite.
The report said Libya’s imports increased by 131 percent, to about US$ 103.191 million during the first 7 months of this year, compared to US$ 44.616 million during 2022.
To put the figures in context, Saudi Arabia was second with a value of US$ 13.151 million, and Lebanon ranked third among the largest countries importing marble and granite from Egypt, with a value of U$ 12,267 million.
Another report from the same Council said Libya was also the third largest importer of Egyptian cement.
