The Ministry of Health reports that teams from of the Eye Hospital in Tripoli and the Corneal Transplant Authority arrived in Sabha Monday.
The team shall conduct medical convoys throughout the south of Libya – the first of its kind in the southern region – to carry out about 40 corneal transplants,
The project came under the direct instructions from the Deputy Prime Minister – Acting Minister of Health, Ramadan Abujanah, to provide the best medical services across all Libya, including the often marginalised south.
The move comes also as part of the Tripoli’s Health Ministry and its government policy to increasingly provide healthcare locally rather than abroad.
