Tripoli, 20 October 2021:

A Turkish Airlines inspection team visited Mitiga Airport today to determine the security procedures at the airport and their compliance with internationally recognized requirements. This comes in preparation for the possibility of operating an air route between Libya and Turkey via Turkish Airlines.

The head of the Security Standards Department at the Airports Authority, Jamal Laftah, and officials of a number of concerned authorities accompanied the Turkish airline delegation on a tour of the new departure hall, which is under construction, and other airport facilities.
