London, 20 August 2021:
The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Ahmed Abuhisa, discussed at his Tripoli office yesterday with the Chairman of the Libyan Council for Oil and Gas and Renewable Energies (LCOGRE) Khaled Benothman, in the presence of the Chairman of the National Company for Trailers, the establishment of a factory for metal industries.
The Ministry of Industry and Minerals said the establishment of the factory aims to meet the needs of the oil sector, so that the percentage of manufactured products for the oil sector exceeds more than fifty percent of the factory’s production, while the rest of the products are for other industries.
The establishment of the factory will be in partnership between the industry sector and the oil sector. Potential sites for the establishment of the factory were presented at the meeting, which will be field-visited and inspected to determine the possibility of establishing the factory on them.
The Ministry said this step comes within the framework of its efforts to localize industry and provide job opportunities for Libyan youth.
