London, 13 March 2021:
The Libyan Government has set the exchange rate of the U.S. dollar for purposes of calculating the customs tariff on imports at LD 2.12 per dollar, the Customs Authority confirmed today.
The Authority also announced that this will go into operation as of tomorrow, Sunday 14 March.
The new mechanism is being introduced to offset the inflationary effect of the new exchange rate and dinar devaluation.
