The UK Trade Envoy to Libya, Henry Bellingham, said that his country wished to develop its trade relations with Libya in all fields.
The statement was made during his meeting with Presidency Council Deputy head Ahmed Maetig on Sunday.
Bellingham was quoted stressing his country’s aspiration to promote and develop relations of cooperation with Libya in all fields.
He said the UK also wanted to work to increase the rate of trade and the activation of previous treaties, including the health, education and energy projects, in the interest of the two friendly countries.
It was agreed that meetings between specialists from both countries would continue to be held periodically to prioritize the projects to be initiated.
The situation and facilitation of Libyan students sent to study in Britain was also discussed.
In his meeting with the Serraj government’s Economy Minister, Ali Al-Issawi, Bellingham expressed his country’s readiness to contribute to the revival of Libya’s economic and industrial sectors and to participate in rebuilding the infrastructure of the Libyan state.
Al-Issawi said that there are many projects that can be completed and shared by British companies, perhaps most notably the projects of the regions in Benghazi and Sirte, which fall directly under his Ministry which contribute to the economic and security stability of Libya.
