Tripoli, 12 August 2016:

Turkish ambassador Ahmet Dogan and his deputy Tufan Hobek were in Tripoli yesterday to meet with deputy Presidency Council leader Ahmed Maetig.

According to the Presidency Council, they discussed cooperation in a number of fields, although neither side has provided any details.

The Turkish embassy currently operates out of Tunis because of security concerns both about Tripoli and Benghazi where Turkey also had a consulate. The consulate-general in Misrata, however, still operates normally.
