Tripoli, 26 May 2016:

There are unconfirmed reports that the youngest son of State Council head Abdulrahman Sewehli was today . . .[restrict]kidnapped briefly by a militia from Tripoli’s Suq Al-Juma district. It is said that he was seized in a busy central area of the capital.

A source close to the new Presidential Guard being formed by the Presidency Council said that Mohamed Sewehli was held by a few hours by the Bab Tajoura militia. The source said that a force had been sent to the militia’s HQ and forced the young man’s release. No further details were given.

However the Bab Tajoura militia has denied that it had abducted Mohamed Sewehli and said the story was a publicity stunt.
