Tripoli, 13 April 2015:

The University of Tripoli’s football team took the University Cup trophy on Sunday after a . . .[restrict]two month-long tournament competing against eleven other teams.

The title was taken by Tripoli in a shutout against Ghariyan Etihad Club with a final score of 2-0.

According to Tripoli Uni administrator Akram Al-Fagahi, the university organised the tournament out of a desire to raise the level of football in Libya. He added that the tournament had been fully supported by the university and that no funding was taken from outside sports agencies or clubs.

At the awards ceremony Mohamed Jamjoum of the City Club and Mohamed Nasser of the University of Tripoli were named “most valuable players”  of the tournament.
