Tunis, 25 January 2015:

Members of the General National Congress who are not part of the rump group that . . .[restrict]reject the House of Representatives and are continuing to hold sessions in Tripoli are planning to meet next week in Tunis, according to Abdussalam Nassiyah. He was one of Zintan’s members in Congress and was subsequently re-elected last June as a member of the House of Representatives.

According to him the meeting will be convened by Ezzidden Al-Awami, Congress’ First Deputy President and will be attended by at least 70 of those who have accepted that Congress has been replaced.

A planning meeting had already taken place in the Tunisian capital, Nassiyah said.

Other members of the Congress who plan to be at the Tunis meeting have confirmed the meeting, One of them said there were over 100 members who believed that the House of Representatives was now Libya’s parliament. Some, however, might not attend because of fears that their families would be attacked by supporters of the continuing Congress, the Libya Herald was told.

No one would specify exactly what the meeting would discuss or agree other than that it would take moves to prevent the current rump Congress led by Nuri Abu Sahmain from blocking attendance at the Geneva Dialogue talks.

Also according to Nassiyah, four members of the HoR who have been boycotting its meetings in Tobruk have said they will now attend.

This newspaper was asked not to report their names at present. [/restrict]
