Central Region Libya Shield, which is based in Misrata and is part of the alliance that . . .[restrict]is trying to dislodge the Zintani Qaaqaa and Sawak brigades from Tripoli International Airport, has accused the Zintanis of deliberating bombing the fuel tanks at the Brega Oil and Gas Marketing Company’s fuel depot on the Airport Road.
In a statement issued overnight, the Misrata unit also laid blame for the situation on the government, saying that claiming that that it manufactured crises to enable it to control the Libyan public. It accused it of not being impartial.
The Zintanis, who control the area where the depot is located, have already accused the Misratans of targeting it.
Although issued overnight, the statement was in fact primarily an announcement that Central Libya Shield would observe yesterday’s 24-hour ceasefire mediated by Tripoli Local Council to enable firefighters to deal with the blaze at the depot.
In the event the ceasefire lasted just six hours. [/restrict]
