Tribal leaders in Jebel Akhdar have declared they no longer recognise the authority of the Dar Al-Ifta . . .[restrict]or any fatwas issueed by Grand Mufti Sadik Al-Ghariani.
Meeting in Beida on Friday to discuss the current situation in Libya, they announced they are closing Dar Al-Ifta’s office in Jebel Akhdar and called on other areas to do the same.
Ghariani has been in the UK since before Ramadan to see his son who is at university there and reportedly for medical checkups.
The tribal leaders also affirmed their support for Libya’s military and police and issued a warning to any armed groups or organisations operating outside of the police or army. [/restrict]
