Candidates started campaigning today in Sirte, Hun and Waddan for the elections on 25 June to the . . .[restrict]House of Representatives which will replace the General National Congress. The area makes up Constituency No. 5.
“The promotion campaign for the House of Representative candidates started today in the fifth constituency which includes Sirte, Jufra and Sidra” Sirte local council spokesperson Mohammed Al-Amyel told the Libya Herald.
Sixty-five candidates are registered for the constituency which will have 70 voting centres.
“The number of registered voters are 42,486 in the constituency and the campaigning has started with pictures and posters being put up in streets and on walls,” added Al-Amyel.
“The election committee in Sirte has instructed candidates to abide by elections rules in in the promotion campaign” said Al-Amyel. [/restrict]
