Central Bank extends deadline for changing LD 20 notes

Tripoli, 12 June 2014:

The Central Bank of Libya (CBL) management has announced they will extend the time . . .[restrict]limit for accepting the first and second editions of the LD 20 bank notes which were previously due to be withdrawn from circulation by the 30 May 2013.

The CBL and all its branches in Tripoli, Benghazi, Sebha, Sirte, Beida, Gharian, Misrata and Jufra will be accepting these bank notes up until Thursday, 28 August 2014.

Each person is restricted to exchanging a maximum of 10,000 dinars of these notes.
