Tripoli, 16 May 2014:
The Public Officials Standards Commission (POSC) set up to implement to the Political Isolation Law (PIL) . . .[restrict]and prevent anyone who served in a major role in the Qaddafi regime has disbarred it first member of the Constitutional Assembly.
It has ruled that Emrajaa Ali Qasim, elected to serve for Tobruk, was legally ineligible because of non-compatibility of with the standards of the PIL.
The decision comes as a surprise since the POSC was supposed to have completed its investigations into all the candidates before they were able to stand for the elections to the assembly on 20 February. [/restrict]
