Tripoli, 27 November 2021:

Tripoli’s landmark JW Marriot hotel is to fully reopen, its owners the Economic and Social Development Fund (ESDF) said on Thursday.

The ESDF said this comes within the framework of its contribution to the government’s ‘‘Revival of Life’’ policy. To this end, it reported that its chairman visited the hotel to follow up on maintenance work.

Initial preparations will be for the opening of the main conference halls, the restaurant, cafes and its affiliated facilities. This will be followed by a gradual operation of the hotel to its full potential, the ESDF reported.

The JW Marriot is one of the largest hotels in Tripoli, but it has been closed since the 2011 February revolution that overthrew the Qaddafi regime.

The ESDF reports that it is located on a total area of ​​56,882 square meters, distributed between 40,280 square meters above the ground, and 16,602 square meters below ground with 36 floors. It contains 370 hotel rooms, and the total building area is 5,000 square meters.
