A delegation headed by Deputy Minister of Interior Saleh Marzoug arrived in Marrakech on Wednesday . . .[restrict]for a summit of Arab Interior Ministers.
The representatives discussed a number of issues ranging from strategies to combat drug trafficking, road safety and civil order. Chief among the topics of discussion, however, was an appraisal of counter terrorism developments and a review of the Arab convention for combatting terrorism.
The Saudi Interior Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Nayef, and Secretary General of the Council, Mohamed Koman, both commented at opening sessions that the Arab world faced unprecedented challenges following the various revolutions of 2011.
The summit issued a joint statement at its conclusion condemning recent terrorist attacks against national security forces in Bahrain, Tunisia, Algeria, Saudi Arabia, Libya, Egypt, Yemen and Iraq. [/restrict]
