Benghazi, 7 September 2013:
Police hunting a gang that attacked a checkpoint yesterday evening, have surrounded a group of suspects in . . .[restrict]the countryside near the eastern coastal town of Sousa. The men have been given three days to surrender or their hideout will be stormed.
In the attack on the police checkpoint, one officer was injured along with two of the attackers, who then fled. In circumstances that are still unclear, the men, who were reported to be members of an extremist Islamist group, were traced to a location not far from Sousa, which is north of Labraq. Security forces have moved in to cordon off the area.
