Libyan football coach Abul Hafidh Erbeesh resigned last night after Libya failed to beat Cameroon in . . .[restrict]a World Cup qualifier game, losing its chance to get through to the next round.
“He resigned after the match, although the Federation has not received a written letter of resignation,” Supervisor for Libyan teams, Adel Bin Essa, told the Libya Herald. “We will know the reasons soon, but I believe he feels he has given everything he can to the team.”
Cameroon defeated Libya 1-0 last night in a game that disappointed many fans.
“When you lose a big game, the coach takes the blame,” Erbeesh told Agel Libya Press. He added that, although the team appeared to be doing well, it had a number of underlying problems.
