Tripoli, 16 May:

The Minister of Local Government Mohamed Harari and Minister of Economy Ahmed Koshli held a multi-departmental meeting on 14 . . .[restrict]May with the heads of the Local Council Police, the Center for Food Control, the Customs Authority and the National Center for Measures and Standards.

The meeting concentrated on attempting to activate all these departments in their monitoring of commercial and economic activity and the monitoring of goods, shops, and public markets that are not following quality and health standards and therefore not allowing economic stability to return to the marketplace.

To this end a joint team was created to define scopes of work and areas of unified action to prevent the entry of expired goods through Libya’s entry points and assure that entering goods are within permitted quality and health standards. [/restrict]
