Money from Libya seized in Upper Egypt

Tripoli, April 5

According to newspaper reports in Egypt, security services in Minya governorate in Upper Egypt have arrested three farmers travelling . . .[restrict]in a car in which was stashed £E1,232,850.  They were driving through the town of Kamin Al-Adwah when they were stopped.

The men detained have been named as: Nos’hi K, aged 39, Salah T, aged 25 and Sami P, aged 32. They are all farmers at Samalut, north on Minya.

On questioning the men reportedly said that the cash belonged to Egyptian workers in Libya and that they were delivering to families in return for  a commission.
